Student Interaction Higher education institutions have a legal obligation to allow students to organize and join campus groups. They also have the authority and responsibility to regulate activities and behaviors of students and evaluate academic work. As student affairs professionals work closely with students on an individual and group level, they must understand their obligations to students, as well as the limits of their authority. Litigation against universities can occur when the boundaries of authority have been breached or obligation has not been fulfilled. Create a tri-fold brochure for student affairs employees explaining the institution’s legal and ethical responsibilities. Include the following in your brochure: · Potential areas of discrimination in relation to students organizing or joining on-campus groups, and how higher education institutions can prevent liability for acts of discrimination. · Legal and ethical methods the higher education institution could use to regulate students’ activities and behaviors. · Legal limitations on how higher education institutions can deal with discrimination policy violations. · Explain the legal and ethical responsibilities of higher education institutions in evaluating academic work in a manner that would protect them from litigation. The brochure should include graphics that are relevant to the content, visually appealing, and use space appropriately. Support your brochure with 3-5 scholarly resources.
