Marijuana use in adolescence

In this final assignment you will write a literature-review term paper.  Ideally, this review will build on your mini-review from earlier in the semester, though you are welcome to change topics if you want, so long as it is biomedical and related to clinical research. Use the outline that you prepared in your previous assignment as your guide. The final term paper length:  Your literature review section of your paper should be at least 4 full pages long, and no more than 5 pages. Your reference list should be on an additional, separate final page (i.e., on either page 5 or 6 depending on the length of your review section).  References: The term paper should contain at least 7 scholarly references from the peer-reviewed literature (i.e., medical or scientific journal articles).  You may use other general references to supplement your list. If you chose to use summary webpages (like the CDC.gov, webmd, etc.) for background knowledge, be sure that you do not rely heavily on them, but only use them sparingly.  These additional references should SUPPLEMENT your literature review, not form the basis of your term paper discussion.  Format – Follow the spacing, font, and margin format that we have used throughout the course, which is described in the course syllabus. Your term paper should have the following sections: Introduction: Introduce the subject of your paper in a few sentences, including your scientific thesis statement, i.e., the main point. Make it clear why your topic is important.  Discussion sub-topic #1 Discussion sub-topic #2 Discussion sub-topic #3, etc… Conclusions: Restate your thesis sentence and tie everything together that you have discussed.  State your conclusions, based on the information and topics that you presented and discussed. Use headings that you put together in your outline to guide the reader through the discussion of your topics.  You can use the headings “Introduction” and  “Conclusion” for the opening and closing paragraphs, but the body (2-3 middle paragraphs) should have brief descriptive heading that tell the reader what they will learn in each topic.   Your must correctly use AMA style for your reference list and in-text citations.   Rubric Term Paper rubric Term Paper rubric Criteria Ratings Pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeAt least 7 scholarly references are included 10.0 pts Full Marks 0.0 pts No Marks 10.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeThe literature review section is at least 4 full pages and not more than 5 pages long. 10.0 pts Full Marks 0.0 pts No Marks 10.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeA separate, final, reference list page is included with each reference in correct AMA format. 10.0 pts Full Marks 0.0 pts No Marks 10.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeThe paper is well-written using clear, concise and precise scientific wording 10.0 pts Full Marks 0.0 pts No Marks 10.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeThe Introduction briefly states the main point(s) and an overview of what will be presented in the paper 10.0 pts Full Marks 0.0 pts No Marks 10.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeThe paper includes 2 or more Subtopic sections clearly and logically discussing points related to the theme of the paper. 10.0 pts Full Marks 0.0 pts No Marks 10.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeThe final Conclusion paragraph briefly and clearly summarizes the main emphasis of the paper 10.0 pts Full Marks 0.0 pts No Marks 10.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeIn-text citations to reference articles are correctly numbered and formatted in AMA style 10.0 pts Full Marks 0.0 pts No Marks 10.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeFont, margins and line spacing are formatted in the correct style, as described in the class syllabus 10.0 pts Full Marks 0.0 pts No Marks 10.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeThe paper does not contain poor grammar, misspelling, incorrect word usage, poor sentence structure, or typographical errors. Teacher review Hi Kasey, This is an interesting topic and it looks like there is some great information out there. If you choose to stick with this topic for your final term paper there should be lots of research to discuss. Unfortunately you lost points because your in-text citations aren’t in AMA format (looks like APA); and, there are a lot of grammatical issues and a typos throughout. In your paper you have several inconsistent statements. For example, you describe studies showing the many harmful effects of marijuana, but in your final sentence you conclude that studies don’t prove that it is harmful. Make sure you proof read your papers not only for grammar but also for consistency of thought before you submit them.PaceKasey CLR310 2-2
