Essay: Critical Analysis of a Digital Humanities Project: Shakespeare’s Staging

Literary critics and enthusiasts are motivated by certain aspects that define their love for art and the ability of literary materials to provoke their thought process by exposing them to a non-existent world. In this ideal environment, individuals are more reliable than their weaknesses and can visualize different solutions that should be used to address problems affecting individuals. Literature exposes individuals to an enabling environment where they can interact with non-existent characters who entertain, inform, and even criticize their behavior. This aspect ends up defining personalities in the world today. Shakespeare’s staging in a project that presents the much-needed space for literary enthusiasts to satisfy their love for art and overcome problems affecting them in their immediate environment.

User Perspectives Towards the Humanities Project

In my first interaction with the Shakespeare’s Staging, I was amazed by the ability of the platform to expose readers, instructors, and students to an equal environment where they can both learn new information from the literary world. While instructors are supposed to guide students in a classroom context, the humanities project offers them an opportunity to learn unique aspects and satisfy their urge for new knowledge, which enables them to remain relevant in the learning environment. It is difficult for organizations and learning institutions to create a similar platform because of the different objectives that feature prominently during the construction process (Jestrovic, 2018). However, individuals are supposed to overcome certain aspects that hinder them from gaining new knowledge that may help them in pursuing their objectives in life. The digital project allows users to explore the site by play, period, or topic, depending on one’s area of focus. Achieving this level of differentiation is what makes the site to be a success in enhancing the level of education in the world today.

For individuals who are not familiar with how to maneuver the platform, there is a resource that offers a list of guidelines, which enable users to accomplish their desired objectives. One of the approaches that can be used by literary enthusiasts to focus on achieving their expected results is the format used in the digital platform. Apart from the resources, the resource has a blog section where they can connect with other people and review their opinions regarding their favorite plays. From this realization, the humanities project offers more than what literary enthusiasts can access in a different platform, an aspect that makes it great for all learning functions. While people can advance their knowledge by pursuing their ambitions in other resources, this platform allows users to discover their potential by aligning their interests with the changing needs of individuals.

Analyzing the Project from a Creator’s Perspective

Given the fact that different individuals can access digital resources, the site offers individuals an opportunity to enhance their knowledge of Shakespeare and other literary icons who thrived in the Victorian period. Regardless of the advancements that have been witnessed in the world today, it is now easier to tackle problems related to humanity because of their impact on people’s perspectives towards life (Cain, 2016). When addressing the areas that can be improved in the platform, it is worth noting that instructors should be encouraged to participate in activities that keep information on rotation. For instance, having individuals and literary professionals to write reviews about plays and literary events that took place in different eras can transform the platform into a credible resource that is recognized even beyond the learning environment. Therefore, identifying the loops available in the project, and recommending approaches that can be used to fix them is a viable process that should be embraced in the project.

Creators play a significant role in the spread of information by transferring their knowledge, which can then be introduced for further review and criticism. During the process of analysis, professionals manage to interact with their peers and share aspects that are considered vital in the growth and development of the literary world. Given the fact that the resource lacks an authorial voice and position, there is a need for the project managers to create various programs that appeal to students, instructors, and other literary enthusiasts. Developing a community of like-minded individuals and creating aspects that define the interactions of individuals is an important aspect that should feature prominently in the platform because of its role in informing the public about potential opportunities that can be explored in the literary world (Language & literature, 2017). Adjusting to the digital world, where information changes by the second, allows individuals to adapt to the fast-pacing world where decisions might have a significant impact on the views expressed by their peers.

Critical Perspective

I am satisfied with the approach that has been taken by the platform to share information about Shakespeare and how his influence on the literary world can be accessed. Since many people are not well-versed with the Victorian era, which was a revolutionary phase, the digital project offers them an opportunity to access literary materials that were produced during different periods. By observing the impact of transformation on the views held by various individuals, it becomes easier for learning institutions to accomplish their desired objectives of generating a set of inspired learners who can challenge positions held by the policymakers in their immediate environment (Henke, 2018). Considering the role played by the digital humanities project, students can enhance their knowledge and align their interests with the changing world.

Initially, creators encountered problems connecting with their audiences because of structural hindrances that affected the quality of communication between the two population groups. Creators anticipate their target audience to immediately connect with their work and offer feedback and constructive criticism that will make them even better. However, the link between creators and their audiences is controlled by a chain of cartels that control the flow of information, making it impossible for the two groups to interact. However, the humanities project presents an opportunity for creators to directly interact with their audience, who can even seek clarification on specific texts in their write-ups. Going forward, the project should incorporate videos where creators can offer briefs regarding particular incidents in their literary materials.

The Shakespeare’s staging in a project that presents the much-needed space for literary enthusiasts to satisfy their love for art and overcome problems affecting them in their immediate environment. Developing an interactive platform where creators can connect with their target audience plays a significant role in encouraging individuals to focus on certain aspects that inspire people to focus on challenges affecting their lives. When creating these avenues, the developers are committed to address a problem with the hope of transforming the issue into an opportunity. The digital humanities project has succeeded in its attempts to empower the student fraternity by exposing them to their instructors and other industry players.
