Letter to Parents
You are the lead educator in a preschool learning environment for students with special needs. You have five students. One of your students, George, is a 3-year-old boy who is currently being tested for an early childhood eligibility of developmental delay. George has challenges in the following areas: receptive and expressive language, is easily frustrated, difficulty following verbal directions, struggles to socialize with peers, and has outbursts of hitting.
George is being provisionally placed in your learning environment. His parents are beginning to feel overwhelmed by the assessment process and are unsure about the best placement for George. Your director has asked you to write a letter to George’s parents addressing their concerns, validating the importance of early identification and intervention, and explaining general classroom strategies you plan on implementing for George.
Write a 3-4 page detailed letter to the student’s parents addressing the points below. Be sure to include at least three references as support within your letter.
