1)    How and why are the economies of many developing countries be affected differently by the pandemic than many advanced economies? What are concerning implications for the production function – hence for long-term growth – for these economies?

2)    China’s GDP growth topped 18% in the first quarter. Wow! What is important context for understanding this growth rate?

3)    Economists expect China’s GDP to grow by 8.5% in 2021. Is a high single digit growth rate likely sustainable for China at this stage it it’s economic development? Why or why not?

4)    The China growth figures were simply stated as percentage changes from the previous period with no indication if this was real growth or nominal growth. Discuss.
