Lolita – Vladimir Nabokov

What does this novel reveal about ideas of family? Have these changed since the book was first published in 1955? As we discussed with Zola’s l’Assommoir there is in this novel the ‘story’ and the ‘subject’ which are bound by the nature of Nabokov’s storytelling. As a storyteller how does Nabokov keep us reading this story? How does his use of language work in the storytelling?
