For the final paper which covers your General Education Task, you will be required to write a paper on what effect the United States’ fiscal and monetary policies had on dealing with the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The report should factually document the state of the U.S. economy prior to the pandemic in specific terms such as: Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Inflation, Unemployment, Interest Rates and Federal Deficit. It should also factually document the state of the U.S. economy as it is currently, utilizing the same metrics as we are still amid the pandemic. You will be further required to factually document the policies that were implemented, analyze the effect of those policies, and provide an opinion on if the policies have helped the U.S. economy rebound and your opinion on what else needs to be done during this crisis. This assignment will reinforce learning objective #4 and #5. A detailed grading rubric will be provided in uiuLearn for this assignment. It must be submitted to the Turnitin enabled Dropbox in uiuLearn. This paper should be 1,000 words or more and include at least 5 works cited, other than the textbook.
