Description
Please refer to the writing guide attached for further instruction. Prompt: Excellent Life: Greek, Roman and Early Christian cultures had different views of what constituted an excellent/happy/good life. The Greek philosopher’s understanding differed in some respects from that of the Roman epic poet and historian, and both differed from the New Testament of the Bible. Compare and contrast what the excellent life means in two of the following: Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics, and Livy’s History of Rome. Cite specific examples from the two texts chosen and pay attention to the different purposes of the text — for example, is the writer hoping to present a model for real-life behavior?
