Writing Fall Semester 2020   Assignment Directions: For this essay, you will write a five- paragraph problem solution essay. You will complete this assignment doing the following steps. You will choose a topic, brainstorm ideas about the topic, write a thesis statement, plan an outline, write a first draft, get feedback, rewrite draft based on feedback, and write a final draft.   Your essay will be organized the following way:   I.                    Introduction paragraph a        Background information b        Hook c         Thesis statement II.                  Body paragraph- a.      State the problem- describe in detail III.                 Body paragraph- offer solution(s) a.      Explain why solution is good, and justify solution IV.                 Body paragraph- offer solution(s) V.                  Conclusion- wrap essay up and call for action, the reader should use your suggestion and what might happen if solution is not used.   Your essay must be typed in the class format. It must be typed in 12 pt. font and double spaced. Each paragraph must be about 10 sentences long. (it can be longer if you wish) Each paragraph must be indented.  You must use ONLY your ideas. Do not copy and paste an essay or parts of the essay off of the Internet and submit as your own.   I chose this topic ·         Children watch too much T.V. My solutions are: –  Set a time to watch TV – Encouraging them to practice other activities, such as sports, painting, or music, with participation.
