Oceans

The oceans are a large and important part of Earth’s Systems. Over the past few decades we have become more aware of how humans are impacting the health of the oceans.  Pick the ocean issue that is most important to you. Take a look at the Ocean Story Maps at http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2014/01/10/an-ocean-of-story-maps/ (shorter link that might be better http://arcg.is/1awwk0T ) to help you find the issue you would like to write about.  State the issue and describe the mechanisms that are taking place.  What are the potential impacts and significance to humans? Is there anything we can do to mitigate the impacts of this issue? Please add links to information and pictures as well as cite your sources. Please use at least 3 sources of information and provide complete citation.
